The main objectives of the Institute include
(i) promoting research in advanced studies in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science
(ii) increasing and disseminating mathematical, statistical and computer science knowledge
(iii) serving as the focal point for advanced research in the fields of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science
(iv) organizing and facilitating study courses, conferences, seminars, lectures in matters relating to different aspects of Mathematics, Statistics, Wireless Communication and Computer Science and
(v) facilitating publication of research reports, books and journals for exposition of knowledge in these areas.

The institute is located in a building with a built-up area of 45,000 sq. feet with-in the University of Hyderabad Campus. It supports research and training in Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science and their application to other fields such as cryptography, information security, AI, machine learning, data analytics, wireless communication, high performance computing. This Institute is the first of its kind in the country which is solely devoted to advanced research and applications in the areas of cryptography and information security.

Computing facility is provided to all each faculty, research associates & fellows in their offices along with LAN facility. Broad band interconnectivity along with connectivity to University of Hyderabad (in whose campus this institute is located) server to access reputed international journals and conference proceedings is made available. Special purpose laboratories - HPC, IoT, Network Security, Android, Wireless communication-4G,5G – have been setup in the course of last five years. The existing library facility was expanded to include books and Journals in the field of Cryptography and Information security apart from the existing books and Journals in the to the areas of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.
