Broadly, the objectives of the Institute are:

  1. To increase awareness of mathematical knowledge.
  2. To conduct, promote and carry out research and advanced study in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science and to disseminate the advances made in these trinity of areas.
  3. To serve as a focal point for advanced research in the fields of Mathematics, statistics and Computer Science.
  4. To encourage talented students both rural and urban to pursue professional and research careers in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.
  5. To support the application of research and training in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science to other fields.
