About the Statistics Olympiad
The Statistics Olympiad is a talent-based competition that emphasizes insightful thinking, logical reasoning and creative problem-solving rather than rote memorization or adherence to a fixed syllabus. The questions assess mathematical, statistical and analytical skills and the ability to apply knowledge in unfamiliar contexts.

About the National Statistics Olympiad
CR Rao AIMSCS launched India's first Statistics Olympiad in 2009 to foster statistical awareness and recognize emerging statistical talent. The annual platform encourages young learners to develop mathematical and statistical thinking.
Why Statistics Matters
Statistics supports socio-economic planning, policy development, scientific research, engineering, data science and evidence-based decision-making. In India, Statistics Day is observed on 29 June to commemorate Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis.
Certificates
Participation certificates will be provided to all participants. Merit certificates will be awarded to the top 25 ranks at each level.
